Fusion Airport Carts

Commercial-grade electric carts for airport passenger transport and ramp utility.

Complete GSE Fleet from the Tiger Family of Brands

Fusion and Tiger from Waev Inc.

Fusion commercial electric carts handle the daily people-moving and utility work that airports require. The passenger models shuttle gate crews and guests across terminals, concourses, parking facilities and FBO grounds quietly and without tailpipe emissions, making them ideal for enclosed terminal environments. Meanwhile, the Utility Short Bed, Medium Bed and Long Bed carts move tools and equipment across tarmac service areas and airport grounds, with electric hydraulic dump beds that lift at the press of a button and standard 2-in. receivers that handle towing up to 2,000 lbs.

Airport Passenger Carts

Move Passengers Across the Terminal, Parking and Airport Campus — Quietly and Without Emissions

Fusion passenger carts are commercial-grade electric vehicles built for moving people efficiently in and around airports. Specifically, terminal-to-gate transport, parking shuttle runs, employee movement and FBO guest transport as examples. Three seat configurations for 4, 6 or 8 passengers let operators match the right vehicle to the capacity. Additionally, the rear flip seats on the 2+2 and 4+2 convert to cargo decks when passenger capacity isn’t needed as well.

Fusion Airport Vehicles FAQ

Common questions from airport operators, FBO managers and fleet procurement teams evaluating Fusion commercial carts for aviation applications.

Have a question not answered here? Contact our Waev GSE specialists who support both Fusion and Tiger airport fleets.

Ultimately, for airport operators, the most important differences are safety and durability. Waev engineers Fusion specifically for commercial fleet operators, unlike golf carts which are designed primarily for recreational use. For example, Fusion includes standard equipment features that competitive carts charge extra for — or don’t offer at all. Furthermore, the frame is e-coated and powder-coated using an automotive-like process that protects against rust, road chemicals and UV exposure whereas standard golf cart paint finish does not. Additionally, the lithium-ion battery is heated and insulated for cold-weather operation which eliminates the performance degradation that affects lead-acid golf cart batteries in low temperatures as a result.

It depends on where your carts need to operate within the airport. For example, the standard configuration is speed-limited to 19 mph and is appropriate for fully-enclosed airside operations, terminal interiors, parking structure shuttle routes and any area that does not require crossing public roadways. Comparatively, the LSV configuration is speed-limited to 25 mph, carries a full VIN, and complies with federal LSV safety standards. As a result, it is street-legal on most roads posted at 35 mph or less and operators that need to cross public or shared-access service roads generally benefit from LSV configuration. Finally, if you require both street-legality and a weather-proof cab with hard doors, we recommend GEM electric vehicles

Fusion fills the cost-effective commercial cart slot in the Waev airport fleet. It is the right choice when an operator needs reliable, safety-equipped electric carts at a competitive price point without the premium features of GEM’s automotive-like LSV platform. Alternatively, GEM is the right choice when street-legal compliance on public roads, weather-proof enclosed cab or specialized configurations like HVAC and wheelchair accessibility conversion are required. Taylor-Dunn Bigfoot is the right choice for industrial-grade ramp work such as baggage handling, lavatory service trucks, potable water service and cargo towing up to 10,000 lbs. Lastly, Tiger Li-Ion or Tiger Gas is the right choice for heavy-duty ramp towing up to 60,000 lbs. Together, all four brands are from Waev. As a result, fleet procurement, support, service and parts are managed through a single organization regardless of which combination of brands are deployed.

Yes, Fusion is available with both soft and hard cab enclosures to keep you protected from the elements. However, if you’re looking for a fully enclosed driving experience, we also offer the GEM electric vehicles — which are available with with hard doors, roll-up windows, heat, defrost and air conditioning for maximum all-weather comfort.

Fusion carts feature a heated and insulated lithium-ion battery pack engineered to perform reliably in cold weather conditions. Fusion can operate in temperatures as low as 32°F (0°C), making it a dependable choice even in challenging cold environments. For full operating specifications, please refer to your owner’s manual.

While Fusion is not currently available in a wheelchair accessible configuration, our GEM lineup includes an ADA-compliant model designed with accessibility in mind. GEM’s accessible cart features a wider entry, a fold-down ramp, and a spacious interior to comfortably accommodate a wheelchair and its occupant — making it an ideal solution for airports, campuses, resorts and any environment where mobility accessibility is a priority.
