Electric Tow Tractors & Baggage Tugs
Purpose-Built for Heavy-Duty Industrial Workloads
The Tiger Li-Ion tow tractor requires no specialized training to operate and demands no special infrastructure changes from your existing fleet. Common industry service parts keep your ground support operation running without proprietary sourcing delays.
With a 96V lithium-ion battery and 100% steel body-on-frame with bolt-on chassis components, the familiar design of Tiger electric tow tractors offer capability, operations and serviceability that’s proven in the ground support and heavy-duty towing environments. As a fully electric tow tractor, the Tiger Li-Ion is equally suited for indoor and outdoor applications — making it a versatile fit whether your operation runs inside a hangar and manufacturing facility or out on the ramp and yard. Tiger electric tow tractors provide a seamless experience for operators looking to electrify established fleets with next-gen tractors, baggage tugs and electric ground support equipment (eGSE).

Sustainability
Stay ahead of the always changing demands with Tiger Li-Ion
Zero Emissions. Real Results.
Switching one combustion tow tractor to Tiger Li-Ion eliminates 17 metric tons of CO2 per year — the equivalent of taking more than three passenger vehicles off the road annually. For fleets pursuing sustainability commitments, FAA environmental standards or airport emissions mandates, Tiger Li-Ion delivers measurable, verifiable progress.

Flexible Charging
Same infrastructure, new possibilities
Tiger Li-Ion tow tractors provide flexible charging and don’t require significant infrastructure changes. In most cases, your facility can charge your Tiger Li-Ion using infrastructure you already have. We recommend upgrading to a 240V, 50-amp charger for the fastest overnight charge.
Opportunity charging is standard — plug in during breaks, between shifts or overnight to maintain charge across multiple daily shifts without taking the unit out of rotation.

Tiger Li-Ion Electric Tow Tractor FAQ
Common questions from operators, fleet managers and procurement teams evaluating Tiger lithium-ion electric tow tractors.
Have a question not answered here? Contact our Tiger specialists.
How much can the Tiger Li-Ion tow tractor tow?
The Tiger Li-Ion is rated to tow up to 60,000 lbs. (27,000 kg) via hitch — identical to the Tiger Gas and LPG models — so operators switching powertrains face no reduction in heavy-duty towing capacity. Top speed is 15 mph (24 km/h), with configurable limits at 12 mph and 10 mph for application-specific safety requirements.
What charger does the Tiger Li-Ion use, and do I need to upgrade my facility's electrical infrastructure?
In most cases, no major infrastructure upgrade is required. The Tiger Li-Ion comes standard with a 6.6 kW on-board charger and a J1772 connector compatible with standard 240V outlets — including NEMA 14-30, NEMA 14-50 and NEMA 6-50 receptacles — for a full charge in 6 to 7 hours. For faster turnaround, it also supports DC fast charging via Anderson A320 connection, bringing a full charge down to 2 to 3 hours with compatible CAN-enabled chargers from ACT Quantum, Minit Charger and PosiCharge.
How much less maintenance does the Tiger Li-Ion require compared to a gas-powered tow tractor?
The Tiger Li-Ion requires 78% less maintenance than comparable combustion tow tractors. Eliminating the internal combustion engine removes oil changes, filter replacements, spark plugs, belts, fuel system service and exhaust maintenance entirely. The LiFePO4 battery requires zero routine maintenance beyond charging meaning no watering, no equalization, no acid management. Combined with eliminated fuel costs, operators save more than $11,000 per unit annually.
Can the Tiger Li-Ion operate in cold weather?
Yes, the Tiger Li-Ion battery pack is heated and insulated, enabling reliable operation from minus 20 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Unlike lead-acid batteries, which can lose up to 50% of their capacity in cold temperatures, the LiFePO4 system maintains consistent power output in sub-freezing conditions. The optional full cab with heater, defrost and fan keeps operators comfortable in cold-climate environments.
What safety features are unique to the Tiger Li-Ion versus gas-powered tow tractors?
The Tiger Li-Ion includes anti-rollover technology that automatically reduces speed through turns to minimize tip risk. This is a direct integration between the vehicle control system and the electric motor. All Tiger models include programmable speed controls, brake interlock and operator presence sensing as standard. Zero tailpipe emissions also eliminate the exhaust inhalation hazard for ground crews working at the rear of the vehicle.
Can I convert my existing gas tow tractors to electric instead of buying new?
Yes. The Tiger Repower Kit converts compatible gas tow tractors to lithium-ion electric power in just one day. The kit includes the complete Li-Ion drivetrain, full wiring harness, LED lighting, brake system and dashboard with keyless switch.
Tiger Gas
Not Ready to Convert Your Fleet to Electric?
The Tiger G has the same proven steel body-on-frame chassis and familiar operations as Tiger Li-Ion, but with a gas-powered GSE Kubota powertrain. Join the Tiger family with gas, which will make it easy to convert to electric when you’re ready, on your timeline.
